With eSend we developed a delivery service application that lets consumers and businesses send packages quickly to their destination.
What’s unique in the service is that the delivery is done by a network of transportation companies filling empty space in their truck, on the routes they are doing anyway.
eSend service consists of two different mobile apps, a back-end service and a REST API.
The consumer mobile apps for Android and iOS are used for ordering and tracking the delivery. Users also pay the delivery with their credit card in the app.
The drivers have their own application for receiving orders and managing deliveries.
The back-end system is in important role for matching the delivery order with a suitable car, optimizing the routes and managing all the data storing and communication between the mobile clients.
The iOS and Android apps for consumers and drivers are made with hybrid technology (web content shown in a native mobile app container). The web front-end is developed using AngularJS and Ionic framework.
The mobile containers are developed with native tools for iOS and Android (Xcode / Objective-C and Android studio / Android Java).
The back-end service is built with Ruby. It runs in AWS cloud.
