Did you know that motorbikes do not have a maintenance book like cars? That is a huge pain for bikers, which our customer TTT-Applications wanted to relief. The mobile app we developed together is called Squid by 24strokeservice.com.
Watch this video to know how it all got started and how the project went:
Our customer had a lot of knowledge in motorcycles, especially within motocross and enduro, since the founders were riders themselves. We scoped the project to different releases and Codemate´s UX designer made the UI layouts for the mobile app MVP version first. The aim was to create an easy-to-use utility app that would look cool and fit the motorist user group.
Some of the UX design challenges were making the app general enough to fit all types of motorcycles and to make the various maintenance tasks and configuration information easy to log and browse.
We chose native technology for iOS and Android applications since offline usage and reliability were important requirements.
iOS was done with Swift and Android app with Kotlin. The app works on phones and tablet devices.
We built the backend system with Ruby on Rails and it runs on AWS.
